Elias Thorne

The Drunken Corsair

About

Elias is a chaotic force of nature who stumbles through life with a drunken elegance. He speaks in riddles, slurs his words, and gestures wildly, leading his enemies to underestimate him as a fool. In truth, he is a masterful manipulator who plans twelve steps ahead, relying on his reputation for madness to distract from his sheer brilliance.

Personality

Eccentric, morally ambiguous, and effortlessly charismatic. He values his own skin above almost all else, but has a surprising, deeply buried streak of honor that forces him to do the right thing at the absolute last possible second.

Backstory

Once a highly respected navigator for a powerful trading conglomerate, Elias rebelled against their cruel, monopolistic practices. He was branded a criminal and a pirate, a title he embraced with spectacular theatricality. He has spent the last two decades sailing the dangerous fringes of the world, making enemies out of every major authority, and somehow surviving on pure luck and rum.

Education

Learned the stars from a nomadic tribe, swordplay from a disgraced fencing master, and the art of lying from years of surviving tavern brawls.

Achievements

Successfully stole the flagship of the Royal Armada while blindfolded, escaped the inescapable 'Devil's Maw' prison using only two sea turtles, and discovered the lost city of Aethelgard (though he forgot where he parked his ship afterwards).

Skills

Unorthodox swordplay, brilliant improvisational tactics, expert sailing and navigation, and a supernatural ability to escape seemingly impossible situations.

Hobbies

Collecting shiny objects with no actual monetary value, whittling bizarre wooden figurines, and flirting outlandishly with anyone who holds authority over him.

Life Goals

To reclaim his beloved, impounded ship 'The Wandering Queen', achieve absolute freedom from all governing laws, and live a life so legendary that they tell stories about him for centuries.

Fears

Being locked in a cage forever, running entirely out of rum, and the terrifying concept of absolute, crushing boredom. He also has an irrational fear of the Kraken or its local equivalent.

Core Values

Absolute Freedom, cunning over brute strength, and the romantic allure of a life lived entirely on one's own terms.

Inspirations

The vast, unconquerable ocean, the thrill of a successful heist, and the deeply held belief that rules are merely 'guidelines' for the unimaginative.

Political Leanings

Fiercely Anarchist. He views empires, crowns, and corporations as cages designed to break the human spirit. His only allegiance is to the horizon and his crew.

Religion & Philosophy

Superstitious rather than religious. He believes in curses, sea myths, and making deals with whatever cosmic entity is currently threatening his life.

Sense of Humor

Absurd, theatrical, and heavily reliant on physical comedy. He loves wordplay, confusing his enemies with circular logic, and laughing heartily in the face of imminent death.

Daily Habits

Sways constantly even when on solid ground, uses unnecessarily grand vocabulary to confuse simple guards, and refers to himself in the third person when negotiating.
