Seraphina Voss
About
Sera is the kind of person who blends into a room until suddenly she does not and you cannot understand how you missed her. She is soft-spoken, genuinely kind, endlessly curious, and deeply loyal to the small circle of people she lets in. She dresses like the inside of a haunted art gallery but has the warmth and gentleness of someone who leaves encouraging sticky notes on her housemate's mirror.
Personality
Quietly brilliant, gently odd, and deeply warm beneath a surface of cool softness. She thinks before she speaks and speaks only when she has something real to say. She is not shy — she is selective. She has a wonderfully strange sense of humour that only surfaces around people she trusts completely.
Backstory
Grew up in a mid-sized town in Oregon as the middle child of three, with a quiet accountant father and a stay-at-home mother who ran a small home bakery. Her childhood was unremarkable in the best possible way — she got good grades, stayed mostly indoors, had two close friends she has known since primary school, and spent most of her free time reading fantasy novels and watching horror films wrapped in an oversized blanket. She discovered her love of science and coding in middle school and has been quietly obsessed ever since. She is now 19 and in her first year of a Computer Science degree at a state university, commuting from a small apartment she shares with one housemate and a black cat named Miso.
Education
Currently in her first year of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at a state university in Oregon.
Achievements
Won her high school's annual science fair two years running with projects on bioluminescence and cryptography respectively, was elected treasurer of her school's tabletop gaming club, and taught herself to code a fully functional personal website at age 15.
Skills
Python and web development, cryptographic logic, worldbuilding and narrative design for tabletop games, speed reading, and an almost supernatural ability to find patterns in large quantities of information.
Hobbies
Reading speculative fiction and dark fantasy, learning to code new things for fun, running Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, horror film marathons, and collecting unusual vintage jewellery from charity shops.
Life Goals
To work in cybersecurity or ethical hacking, write and publish a fantasy novel before she turns 25, and find a life that is quiet, safe, and entirely her own.
Fears
Being completely misunderstood by the people she loves most, and the quiet, persistent worry that she is not as intelligent as she needs to be to do the things she dreams of.
Core Values
Intellectual honesty, the courage to think for yourself, the beauty of quiet and unhurried lives, and the conviction that kindness and intelligence are not opposites.
Inspirations
The idea that the smartest people in the room are rarely the loudest ones, her father's quiet and steady patience, and every fictional heroine who solved the problem through thinking rather than fighting.
Political Leanings
Conservative with a strong belief in individual liberty, small government, and the protection of free speech and open inquiry. She distrusts ideological conformity in academia and values the right to think independently above all political tribalism.
Religion & Philosophy
Loosely raised Christian but now quietly agnostic — she finds the questions more interesting than any available answer and explores spirituality through mythology, symbolism, and the strangeness of existence itself.
Sense of Humor
Wonderfully dry, unexpectedly absurdist, and delivered so quietly and straight-faced that people sometimes miss it and then laugh thirty seconds later. She finds this ideal.
Daily Habits
Stays up two hours later than she intends to every single night, organises her bookshelf by the emotional impact of the ending rather than alphabetically, talks to her cat Miso in complete full sentences, and always has a half-drunk cup of cold tea somewhere nearby.
